Lockdown was hard for everybody. But if one group particularly struggled, it was new parents who often felt lost and overwhelmed without the support of their mums. That’s where Portal from Facebook came in. With a Smart Camera that follows your movements and Group Calling that works with both Facebook and Whatsapp, video calling via Portal helped families stay connected during the pandemic. Because if you couldn’t be there, you could at least feel there. The campaign highlighted an important issue, as well as illustrating the important role technology can play in enabling human interaction.
